our proprietary digital production tools,we are implementing a system in society that enables anyone—not just specialists—to engage in "making."

生きるためにつくり、つくることで生きる。
そんな好循環が持続する、
いきいきとした暮らしを実現したい。
そんな風に誰もが、自分たちの力で、身近な資源を用いて、
理想の環境を作れるようになれば、
持続可能で幸福な社会が築けると信じています。
そんな想いから生まれたのが、VUILDという名前です。
VUILDは、「生きる」の語源"VIVID/VITAL"と
「つくる」の"BUILD"を組み合わせた造語で、
"生きることとつくることがめぐる"という私たちの哲学を体現しています。

We believe that if everyone can create their ideal environment
using their own initiative and local resources,
we can build a sustainable and happy society.
It was from this vision that the name "VUILD" was born.
VUILD is a coined word combining "VIVID/VITAL"—the roots of "living"—with "BUILD"—the act of creation;
it embodies our philosophy that living and creating are inextricably linked in a continuous cycle.

建築とは、単なる建物ではない。
自分たちがどう生きるかを、空間として表現する行為である。
その権利「空間に意味を与え、美学を決定すること」は長らく、
専門的な教育と経験を持つ者にしか許されてこなかった。
莫大な予算、難解な知識、閉じた業界構造。
建築はいつしか、一部の人間だけのものになっていた。
建築の民主化とは、その権利をすべての人にひらくことを目指している。
安く家を建てることでも、建設を効率化することでもない。
「自分たちの暮らしを、自分たちの手で形にする」という行為を、
誰もが選べる社会をつくる。
それがVUILDが考える、「建築の民主化」です。

Architecture is more than just buildings.
It is the act of expressing how we live through the medium of space.
For a long time, the right to imbue space with meaning and define its aesthetic was reserved solely for those with specialized education and experience.
With its massive budgets, arcane knowledge, and insular industry structure,architecture had—over time—become the exclusive domain of a select few.
The democratization of architecture aims to open that right to everyone.It is not about building cheaply or merely streamlining construction.It is about creating a society where anyone can choose to shape their own lives with their own hands.
That is what VUILD envisions as the "democratization of architecture."

私たちが直面した現実、それは建築産業の構造的な限界。
1980年に90万人いた大工は、2030年には20万人まで減少すると予測される。
職人不足は建設費の高騰とスケジュール遅延を招き、
「建てたい」という意志があっても、予算が合わない、工期が合わない、
施工者が見つからない、という現実が立ちはだかる。
しかしこれは、人手の問題だけではない。
設計・製造・施工が分断されたまま機能してきた
産業の構造そのものが限界を迎えている。
VUILDはこれらの産業が抱える問題を、
テクノロジーによって人間の作る力を拡張することで解決する。
一品ものであっても、大量生産品と同等のコスト、スケジュールで実現し、
各々の意志を反映させたクリエイティブな建築で溢れる街並みをつくる。
Redesigning
the act of architecture.
We faced a stark reality: the structural limitations of the construction industry.
The number of carpenters, which stood at 900,000 in 1980, is projected to drop to just 200,000 by 2030.
This shortage of skilled labor drives up construction costs and causes scheduling delays;
even when there is a desire to build, people are often thwarted by incompatible budgets,
unfeasible timelines, or the inability to find a contractor.
Yet, this is not merely a matter of manpower.
The very structure of the industry—long defined by a fragmentation of design, manufacturing, and construction—
has reached its limits.
VUILD addresses these industry challenges by leveraging technology
to augment human creative and constructive capabilities.
We make it possible to realize unique, one-of-a-kind structures at costs and speeds comparable to mass-produced goods,
creating streetscapes filled with creative architecture that reflects the individual visions of those who build them.
口より先に、手を動かすこと。自分の身体で感じ、自分の頭で語ること。分けて考えることを避け、全体像を掴むこと。直感に従い、心から楽しむこと。
Let your hands move before your mouth speaks. Feel things with your own body, and articulate them using your own mind. Avoid breaking things down into separate parts; instead, grasp the big picture. Follow your intuition, and enjoy the process from the bottom of your heart.
よりよいものを目指し、諦めないこと。言い訳を考える前に、前進する方法を探ること。失敗を歓迎し、失敗から学ぶこと。じっくり深堀りし、考え抜くこと。
Strive for the best and never give up. Before making excuses, find a way forward. Embrace failure and learn from it. Dive deep and think things through.
互いの声に耳を傾け、支え合うこと。互いの能力を引き出しあい、高め合うこと。互いを思いやり、感謝すること。互いに祝福し、分かち合うこと。
Listen to and support one another. Bring out the best in each other to reach new heights. Treat each other with empathy and gratitude. Celebrate and share together.
「こう生きたい、こう在りたい」という人々の想いに寄り添い、その人、その場所でしかできない一品ものを、対話を通じて共に創る。その過程を通して、プロジェクトに関わる人や地域の希望を紡いで行く。
We honor people’s aspirations for how they wish to live and who they wish to be, collaborating through dialogue to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect the individual and the specific setting. Through this process, we weave together the hopes of everyone involved in the project and the local community.

設計者・エンジニア・職人がひとつのチームとなりアイデアの最初のかけらから空間が立ち上がる瞬間までをひとつながりの行為としてつくる。クリエイティブを起点にテクノロジーを掛け合わせこれまでにない建築の手法とアイデアを生み出していく。
デザインビルドの実践で培った知見と経験を活かし、つくるための場所とツールを提供する。技術や知識を社会にひらき、より多くの人が建築に関われる環境を整える。その積み重ねが、建築の民主化を推し進めていく。
企画・設計から製造・施工までを自社で一貫して手がける「デザインビルド事業」と、デジタルものづくりに触れるところから、学び・実践・共創までを伴走する「プラットフォーム事業」。デザインビルドで培った技術や知見はプラットフォームを通じて各地のつくり手に渡り、そこで生まれた実践が、また次の建築を支える力になっていきます。2つの事業がめぐるこのエコシステムによって、私たちは建築の民主化を推進しています。
Our "Design-Build Business" handles everything in-house from planning and design to manufacturing and construction, while our "Platform Business" guides people from their first encounter with digital fabrication through to learning, practice, and co-creation. The technologies and insights cultivated in our design-build projects are shared with creators across regions via our platform, and the practical experiences born there, in turn, become the force that supports our next architectural endeavors. Through this interconnected ecosystem of our two core businesses, we are driving the "democratization of architecture."
VUILDは建築設計にとどまらず、ワークショップやco-buildを通じて「つくる人」を育てる活動を続けてきた。設計図を描くこと、木材を加工すること、空間をともに立ち上げること——その一つひとつの体験が、人の中に眠っていた創造性を呼び覚ます。建築の民主化とは、建物を安く早く供給することではない。つくる行為を通じて、人が自分の環境を自分でかたちづくる力を取り戻すことだ。
木材は森で伐採され、工場で加工され、長い距離を運ばれて建築になる。その過程で、地域の資源は地域の富にならず、輸送によるCO2だけが残る。VUILDは設計・加工・施工を地域内で完結させることで、この構造を変えようとしている。地域の木を地域でつくることは、地域経済を循環させ、その土地の文化を次代に残すことでもある。
世界のCO2排出量の約37%は、建築産業に起因する。コンクリートと鉄を大量に使う建て方を変えなければ、この数字は動かない。VUILDのデジタルファブリケーション技術は、構造を設計レベルで最適化することで、素材の使用量を根本から削減する。美しい意匠と低炭素はトレードオフではない——それを、技術と設計の力で証明していく。

「建築の民主化」を掲げ、デジタルファブリケーションによる参加型の建築づくりを展開してきたVUILD。創業10年目を迎え、大規模建築や多様な素材への展開、リジェネラティブな取り組み、AIロボティクスへの投資など、事業は新たなフェーズに入っています。その変化を一つの人格として束ね直す「Meta Architects」として定義し、ロゴ・タイポグラフィを設計しました。

Under the banner of the "democratization of architecture," VUILD has pioneered participatory building processes through digital fabrication. Now in its 10th year, the company is entering a new phase—expanding into large-scale architecture and diverse materials, advancing regenerative initiatives, and investing in AI robotics. To consolidate this evolution into a single persona, we defined them as "Meta Architects" and designed a new logo and typography.
