廃材の紙管でつくる、多様性を生む駅中サードプレイス

A station third place built from discarded paper tubes, fostering diversity

名古屋の私鉄沿線の駅構内に、多世代が集まるサードプレイスとして始動した「MACHIKOYA」プロジェクト。地域課題に取り組んできた城山さんと共に企画を進めた。活動の余白を残し、人とまちをつなぎ地域課題に取り組む拠点とすることを目的とした。今後の活動に応じて空間を変えていけることを前提に、運営者とビジョンを共有しながら計画した。

A station third place built from discarded paper tubes, fostering diversity

MACHIKOYA is a project launched inside a station on a private railway line in Nagoya as a third place for multiple generations. It was planned together with Shiroyama, who has worked on a range of local issues. The aim was a base that leaves room for activities and connects people and the town to address local issues. It was planned in close discussion with the operator, on the premise that the space will change according to future activities.

VUILDは内装デザインと什器製作を担当した。フィルム製造事業の廃材である紙管を多用し、空間の主要な構成要素とした。図書スペースやキッチンなど、拠点として必要な最低限の機能を備えている。

施工はビルドレスが行い、サインはmariiが担当した。

Completion Photos

VUILD was responsible for interior design and furniture production. Paper tubes, a byproduct of film manufacturing, were used extensively as the main element of the space. It includes the minimum functions needed for a base, such as a library corner and a kitchen.

Construction was carried out by Buildless, and the signage was designed by marii.
