VUILD Holds Exhibition “New Livelihoods Made with EMARF: Making That Sets You Free”

“EMARF” is a cloud pre-cut service using digital fabrication developed by VUILD. Simply by submitting CAD data online with EMARF, you can have wooden parts delivered to you. Since the service launched in May 2020, it has been used in a wide range of settings, from furniture and products to artworks, architectural interiors and temporary structures.

The exhibition brings together a variety of wooden products made with EMARF to date and explores trends in new livelihoods in the digital age. Talks with makers who embody these new livelihoods and fabrication demonstrations with a small CNC machine are also planned.

To connect “living” and “making,” we want to make everyone a “maker.”

Our aspiration at VUILD is now beginning to bud in many different settings. We hope this exhibition will be an opportunity for everyone to “set free what they want to make.”

EMARF is a cloud service that lets you complete the entire process of wooden making online, from design to cutting parts. By installing EMARF, which extends the functions of CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, you can submit wooden parts online directly from CAD, parts that used to require specialist knowledge or that you gave up on because of cost or lead-time constraints, and make things from home as if you had your own workshop.
