Furniture that fits your life: service design that opens DIY to everyone
暮らしにぴったり合う家具を。DIYを多くの人にひらく、サービスデザイン
In collaboration with CAINZ Corporation, VUILD handled service planning and product development for CAINZ DIY MARKET, a platform for “order-cut furniture” finished by DIY. As an alternative to buying ready-made or flat-pack furniture in stores, it was planned as a service that lets users make furniture suited to their own lives. Users can choose their own finishes, such as painting or tiling.

株式会社カインズとの協業で、DIYで仕上げる「オーダーカット家具」のプラットフォーム「CAINZ DIY MARKET」のサービス企画とプロダクト開発を担当した。店頭で既製品や組立家具を選んで購入する方法とは別に、利用者が自分の生活に合わせて家具をつくることができるサービスとして企画した。塗装やタイル貼りなど、利用者が仕上げを選べる仕組みとしている。

The furniture, machined on ShopBot, includes shapes that would be difficult for individuals to make while keeping a simple construction that allows a wide range of customization. Designed for easy assembly, it can be handled even by people without DIY experience.

ShopBotで加工する家具は、個人でのDIYでは難しい形状を含みながら、多様なカスタマイズができる単純な構成とした。組み立てやすい設計とすることで、DIYの経験がない人でも扱えるようにしている。

Construction Process

Users assemble the ShopBot-machined parts themselves and finish them with paint or tile. By using digital technology to make the furniture easy to assemble, the service brings DIY within everyone's reach.

ShopBotで加工されたパーツを利用者が自ら組み立て、塗装やタイル貼りで仕上げる。デジタルテクノロジーを活用して組み立てやすい家具とすることで、DIYを身近なものにしている。
