Architecture on the sand, built by earthlings from Earth's own timber

地球の木で、地球の人が建てた、砂の上の建築

A rest area and play structure installed in Fukuoka. Instead of prefabrication, in which materials are transported and assembled, it was planned on the idea of onsite fabrication. Referencing the concept of 3D-printing lunar bases from regolith, it is a structure built on the earth’s sand with timber grown on the earth.

福岡に設置した休憩所兼遊具。資材を輸送して組み立てるプレファブではなく、現地で生成するオンサイト・ファブリケーションの考え方で計画した。月面の砂（レゴリス）を3Dプリントして基地をつくる構想を参照し、地球上の砂の上に、地球で育った木材で建てる構造物とした。

Once completed, it was used not only as a rest area but also as play equipment that children climbed on and crawled through.

完成後は、休憩所としてだけでなく、子どもたちが登ったりくぐったりする遊具としても使われた。

Construction Process

Following the idea of onsite fabrication, a ShopBot was brought to the site, where parts were cut and then assembled on the spot.

オンサイト・ファブリケーションの考え方にもとづき、ShopBotを現地に持ち込んで部材をその場で切り出し、組み立てた。
