多摩川上流の木で、下流の駅前に座る場所を

Timber from the upper Tama River, a place to sit by a station downstream

地元商店街と行った設計ワークショップをもとに、京王線笹塚駅前広場に設置するベンチを製作した。「みんなでつくる駅前広場」をテーマに、子どもから高齢者まで利用できるデザインとした。地域材を使用し、地域の森林資源とのつながりを示すことを目的とした。

A bench for the plaza in front of Sasazuka Station on the Keio Line, made based on a design workshop with the local shopping street. Under the theme “a station plaza we make together,” it was designed for use by everyone from children to the elderly. Local timber was used to show the connection with regional forest resources.

部材には京王線の沿線上流域で産出される多摩産材を使用し、多摩川下流に位置する笹塚駅前広場との関係を示した。

「みんなでつくる駅前広場」をテーマに、子どもから高齢者まで利用できるデザインとした。

Tama timber from the upper reaches along the Keio Line was used, expressing the relationship with Sasazuka Station Plaza on the lower Tama River.

Under the theme of “a station plaza we make together,” it was designed to be used by everyone from children to older people.

施工プロセス

Construction Process

地元の小学生が参加するワークショップを開催し、出された意見をもとにデザインを決定した。設置後もサインペイントなどの活動を継続している。

加工した部材を広場に運び込み、夜間に設置した。ワークショップでは子どもたちが部材やサインに色を塗った。

Construction Process

A workshop with local elementary school students was held, and the design was decided based on their ideas. Activities such as sign painting have continued since installation.

The machined parts were brought to the plaza and installed at night. In the workshops, children painted parts and signs.
