言葉から生まれた形を、その場で木から削り出す
Carving forms born from words out of wood, on the spot
金沢21世紀美術館で展示したマルチメディア・インスタレーション。テクノロジーによって誰もが作り手になれる「建築の民主化」を掲げるVUILDの取り組みを示すもので、建築を専門としない人が言葉によって形を構想し、それが木の造形として出力される仕組みを展示した。VUILDの各種サービスを組み合わせ、建築や都市の新しいつくり方を提示した。
Carving forms born from words out of wood, on the spot
A multimedia installation exhibited at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. It presented VUILD’s aim of “democratizing architecture” so that anyone can become a maker through technology, showing a system in which people without architectural training conceive forms through words and have them output as wooden objects. Combining VUILD’s various services, it presented new ways of making architecture and cities.

6ヶ月の会期中、継続して稼働した展示である。来場者がイメージを言葉で入力すると、AIがその言葉から3Dモデルを生成し、そのデータをもとに会場内に設置したCNCルーター「ShopBot」で木材から削り出す。木工品のデザインから部材加工までをオンラインで完結できる「EMARF」の仕組みも用いている。協力：コクヨ株式会社。

The exhibit operated continuously throughout the six-month exhibition period. When visitors describe an image in words, AI generates a 3D model from them, and the model is carved from wood with the ShopBot CNC router installed in the gallery. It also uses EMARF, a service that handles everything from woodwork design to parts processing online. In cooperation with KOKUYO Co., Ltd.
