A streaming studio where 603 hexagons resonate with "live sound"
603枚の六角形が「生の音」を響かせる配信スタジオ
A music streaming studio in Tokyo. In small spaces, the sound field depends on the balance of absorption and reflection. The space is composed of discrete hexagonal reflectors forming a continuous curved surface with appropriate gaps. The curved interior diffuses sound, allowing recordings that include the room’s acoustics.
603枚の六角形が「生の音」を響かせる配信スタジオ
都内の音楽配信スタジオ。小規模な空間の音響設計では、吸音と反射のバランスで音場が決まる。離散的な六角形の反射板で空間を構成し、適切に空隙を設けながら連続した曲面となるよう計画した。曲面の室内で音を拡散させ、室内の響きを含めた音を収録できるスタジオとした。

Lighting consists of ceiling spotlights and hexagonal recessed floor lights, with color-controllable fixtures selected for live streaming.

The discrete hexagonal reflectors, with gaps set between them, form a continuous curved surface from floor to ceiling. Switching the lighting color changes the impression of the room to suit what is being streamed.

照明は天井のスポットライトと六角形の床埋込照明で構成し、ライブ配信用にカラーコントロール可能な器具を選定した。

離散的な六角形の反射板が、適切な空隙を設けながら床から天井まで連続した曲面をつくる。照明の色を切り替えることで、配信の内容に合わせて室内の印象を変えられる。

Construction Process
施工プロセス

The reflectors were machined with the CNC milling machine BIESSE: 603 panels of varying angles and sizes from 36 mm cedar CLT.

The machined panels were engraved with numbers, joined into groups at the factory, and then brought to the site and installed.

反射板はCNCミリングマシン「BIESSE」で、厚さ36mmの杉CLTから角度や大きさの異なる603枚を加工した。

加工したパネルには番号を刻み、工場で複数枚ずつ組み合わせたうえで現場に搬入して取り付けた。

The form was generated by incorporating physics simulation into Grasshopper, automatically producing the irregular acoustic space and the fabrication data for the hexagonal panels from plan and section conditions.

形状はGrasshopperに物理演算シミュレーションを組み込み、平面・断面の条件から不整形な音響空間と六角形パネルの加工データを自動生成した。
