Growing with the forest: a mobile wagon that carries its scent
森と共に育つ、香りを運ぶ移動式ワゴン
A mobile wagon designed and fabricated for the skincare brand BAUM, commissioned by Hakuhodo Inc. It gives form to the brand's idea of “growing together with the forest” as a fixture that changes the more it is used. Equipped with a hand-washing station, it uses an experience of scent as a starting point to draw visitors' attention to the forest resources and production processes behind the materials. It debuted at Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2026 in May 2026 and tours commercial facilities in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
森と共に育つ、香りを運ぶ移動式ワゴン
スキンケアブランド「BAUM」のために、株式会社博報堂の依頼で設計・製作した移動式ワゴン。ブランドが掲げる「森と共に育つ」という考え方を、使われるほどに変化していく什器として形にした。ハンドウォッシュを備え、香りの体験を入口に、素材の背景にある森林資源や生産の過程へ来場者の意識を向けることを目的とした。2026年5月の「森、道、市場2026」でデビューし、東京・名古屋・大阪・福岡の商業施設を巡回する。

The top is a 1,770 × 850 mm laminated hinoki board, and the body is built from hinoki square timber and dowels with shina plywood. Using domestic timber makes visible the relationship with the forest, such as where the wood comes from and how it is distributed, that a product alone cannot convey. A sink, water tanks, a canopy, and a backdrop banner are integrated into one unit, with a total weight of about 86 kg. It is finished in BAUM green paint and Rubio.

Completed in April 2026, the wagon debuted at Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2026 on May 22, and then tours LUMINE Shinjuku, Gate Tower Mall (Nagoya), LUCUA iLE (Osaka), and AMU Plaza Hakata.

天板には1,770×850mmの檜集成材を用い、檜の角材・丸棒とシナ合板で本体を構成した。国産材を使うことで、木材の産地や流通といった、製品だけでは伝わらない森との関係が見えるようにしている。シンク、給排水タンク、天蓋、背景バナーを一体にまとめ、完成重量は約86kgとした。仕上げはBAUMグリーンの塗装とルビオによる。

2026年4月に完成し、5月22日に「森、道、市場2026」でデビューした。その後、ルミネ新宿、ゲートタワーモール（名古屋）、LUCUA iLE（大阪）、アミュプラザ博多を巡回する。

Construction Process
施工プロセス

Fabrication took place from March to April 2026. The body uses falcata-core shina plywood in thicknesses of 18, 21, and 24 mm, and the hinoki dowels are 30 mm in diameter.

製作は2026年3月から4月にかけて行った。本体にはファルカタ芯のシナ合板（厚さ18・21・24mm）を用い、檜の丸棒はφ30mmとした。
